483rd Bombardment Group (H)
APO 520
15 September, 1944,
Our ship No. 156 was flying Number seven (7) and Lt. Robson
was flying No. 4 position. The last I saw of his ship was at
epproximately 17° E.-46° N. The figures given are within a sixty
(60) mile vinicity. He seemed to be loseing altitude fast. His
altitude at that time was about 8 or 9 thousand feet. It seented
he apparantly was trying to reach the coast to ditch his ship. Two
of his engines were feath >red and over the VHF we picked up that he
hod an injured man aboard. I did not have time to gather any other
informstion due to the fret that our ship was also badly hit and I
was trying to direct our course toward the coast for ditching.
